Clare’s Fianna Fáil Senator says it’s an absolute necessity that the state stands behind the aviation sector.

Timmy Dooley’s comments follow a warning from Aer Lingus that mounting losses caused by the COVID crisis, have put it in a position where it’s considering closing its bases in Shannon and Cork.

Senator Dooley, who is his party’s Seanad spokesperson on Transport, says the expected reduction in the Green list would have an impact on Shannon.
