The Chairman of Clare Young Fine Gael is calling for the criminal records of those convicted of homosexuality before 1993 to be overturned.

Young Fine Gael has launched a petition to seek a state pardon for the men and women arrested for homosexual activity before it was made legal 24 years ago.

The group says with the recent strides made in Ireland for LGBT rights, this hurdle needs to be overcome.
