Clare TD admits unemployment problem in county
A Clare government TD has admitted that unemployment in the county remains too high, eighteen months into the coalition's term in office.
However, Clarecastle Fine Gael representative Joe Carey insists inroads will be made in tackling joblessness in the county as confidence in the economy is restored.
Figures from the Central Statistics Office this week showed an increase in the number of Clare residents signing on the live register last month, with over 10,400 people now claiming some form of benefit.
However, Deputy Carey insists the government is taking action to address the crisis.
