Clare St. Vincent de Paul sees increase in demand for supports

The President of the Clare branch of St. Vincent de Paul says the charity has experienced an increase in the number of Clare families accessing its services in the first three months of this year.

Nationally calls to the Society have increased by almost a fifth in the first quarter of this year, compared to 2020.

From January to March, it’s recorded approximately 45,000 requests for help with heating and food.

It’s made an appeal to the Government to re-open charity shops, as a source of income and also to re-stock on second hand items.
