Clare’s society for the prevention of cruelty to animals is to be wound down.
Its follows the Clare SPCA’s AGM last week, during which no-one put forward their name take over roles on the organisation’s committee.
Many of the positions have been held by people involved since its inception in 1981.

Clare SPCA has been subject of criticism on social media in particular in recent months and Clare’s County Dog Warden Frankie Coote says that’s played a part in the move.
