Clare Motorists Among Most Likely To Be Tested For Drug-Driving

Clare motorists are among the most likely in the country to be tested for drugs while driving.

A goal of 50,000 drug-driving tests a year was set when roadside testing was introduced 18 months ago, but only around 2,000 tests have been carried out since April 2017.

Disparities have also emerged between Garda divisions, with Kildare carrying 268 drug-driving tests, the highest number across the 28 garda divisions.

Clare followed with 177 tests, while in Louth, just 3 tests took place.
