Two Clare men have been recognised for their efforts in saving eight people from drowning earlier this year.

Kevin Sharkey and Callum Curtin rescued a child and another adult at Spanish Point in September, rescuing six more people shortly after who were swept out by the strong current.

They’ve now been honoured by Water Safety Ireland at the National Annual Awards Ceremony.
