Clare IFA Chair Says Farmers Not In The Clear Over Fodder Crisis Yet

The Clare chair of the IFA believes it’s too soon to say that farmers in this county are out of the woods when it comes to the fodder crisis.

Months of inclement weather conditions led to farmers in this county and many other parts being unable to get a second cut of silage and having to house their livestock sooner than usual.

It’s resulted in a shortage of available feed and now the focus is turning to getting animals back out onto the land as soon as possible.

But with this week’s extreme cold snap, that’s not likely to happen for a while and Clare County Chairperson Willie Hanrahan is reminding farmers that help is there for those who need it.
