Clare IFA Call For Faster COVID-19 Testing In Meat Factories

The Clare County Chair of the IFA is calling on meat factory representatives to ensure faster COVID-19 test results for their workers.

A special meeting of the Oireachtas COVID Committee to discuss cases in processing plants is hearing from Meat Industry Ireland and the Health and Safety Authority this afternoon.

Clare farmers say they haven’t seen any negative impact as of yet as a result of meat plant closures in the Midlands.

But Local IFA Chair Tom Lane has been telling Clare FM’s Josh Prenderville that for this to continue, adopting testing models that have worked internationally is the way forward.
