Clare Hoteliers Asked To Play Their Part In Tackling Child Trafficking

Hoteliers in Clare are being asked to play their part in ending child trafficking.

Child protection experts say the hotel sector can be used, without its knowledge, by those trafficking children – from outside Ireland and inside the State.

Awareness training is currently being offered to hotel management and staff so that they can be alert to potential child trafficking through hotel rooms.

The anti-trafficking organisation Mecpaths is also working with students at the Shannon College of Hotel Management.
