The vast majority of Clare homes have failed to achieve the highest energy rating over the past 9 years.
The latest report from the CSO shows Building Energy Ratings or BER audits were conducted for 20,368 residences in the county between 2009 and 2018.
More than a quarter of those received a D1 or D2 rating, 37% were of C1 or C2 standard, only 9% had a B 1,2 or 3 rating and 8% of the homes were awarded the lowest G rating.
