Clare Historian Says There Should Be No Rapping Ban On Amhrán Na BhFiann

A South East Clare historian insists young people should be allowed to rap the National Anthem, if it means they’re taking an interest in it.

The status of Amhrán na bhFiann has come under the spotlight, with a Seanad committee looking for legal protection and guidelines on its use.

It fell out of copyright five years ago, 70 years after the death of its writer Peadar Kearney.
