A Garda operation is underway in West and North Clare aimed at tracking down and apprehending mobile criminals.
High visabilty check-points have been put in place since early this morning, in the wake of rising car thefts and burglaries in recent months.
The aim is to intercept criminals who may be involved in the commission of those crimes in the county, while also providing drivers with advice on how to secure their vehicle.
