Clare Gardaí To Mount Unmarked Checkpoints As Part Of Bank Holiday Campaign

Clare Gardaí are warning those taking to the roads for the long weekend that both marked and unmarked Garda cars will be patrolling the county.

Seatbelt wearing, distraction driving and driving under the influence of drink or drugs will be the main focuses of the campaign this Easter weekend.

There has been a concerning rise of 24% in detections of texting at the wheel in the first three months of the year, compared with the same period last year.
