Clare Garda Head Insists Adequate Policing Levels In Place

The Head of the Clare Garda Division is reassuring that cuts to Garda overtime will have very little impact on policing in the county over the coming days.

The Justice Minister has proposed an additional 42 million euro in funding to cover garda overtime, following a controversy over the pre-Christmas bill.

Restrictions on overtime, which came into effect at midnight on Tuesday will remain in place until next Monday, due to budgetary pressures.
