Clare’s Chief Fire Officer is warning people about the dangers of Christmas decorations near open heat sources.
Each year fire services are called out after decorations have caught fire, after they have been placed too close to an unguarded fire place.
Other concerns over the holiday period are fairy lights being left on overnight and fire guards not being put in place before people go to bed.
