Clare Fire Service Say Gorse Fires Divert Vital Resources

Clare Fire Service says dealing with preventable gorse fires diverts emergency resources away from other vital areas. 

It comes as firefighters dealt with one of the largest blazes in the county in recent years in an isolated area north of Lissycasey  over the weekend.

6 units spent almost nine hours fighting the blaze, which was spread over up to 1000 acres.
