Clare Fianna Fail Election Candidate Calls For Work To Begin On Clonboney Bridge

A Clare Fianna Fáil election candidate is calling on the local authority to carry out work on Clonboney Bridge immediately.

Michael McDonagh made his comments in light of reports that the bridge on the N67 near Miltown Malbay may remain closed for a matter of weeks following flooding earlier this month.

Senior officials say there has been extensive damage to the base of one of the arches and while it may take a prolonged period to repair, the matter is being treated with urgency.

Michael Mc Donagh has been telling me that the town of Miltown Malbay has suffered considerable financial losses as a result of the closure and he's believes work should begin immediately so that Clonbony Bridge can re-open soon.
