Clare Covid Cases Have Levelled Out In Past Week – HSE Midwest

The HSE’s Direct of Public Health in the Midwest says the number of cases of COVID-19 in Clare have levelled out over the past week.

387 cases of the virus were confirmed in this county between October 5th and Sunday last, placing the incidence rate at 325.7.

This means Clare now has the sixth highest incidence rate in the country, behind Cavan, Meath, Monaghan, Donegal and now Sligo.

Dr Mai Mannix says its too early to say if level 3 restrictions would have made a difference, as the 14-day incidence rate remains too high, though she admits the fact that case numbers seem to have stopped rising for now, provides a ray of hope.

Dr Mannix says details which were revealed in a HSE report this week of one person in the Midwest infecting 56 others, proves just how important it is to follow health advice.
