Clare County Council’s CCTV Initiative Leads To Illegal Dumping Conviction

A person has been successfully convicted of two counts of illegal dumping after being caught on camera by Clare County Council’s CCTV scheme.

The environmental section of the local authority has been operating both covert and overt cameras to crack down on dumping black-spots in the county.

The local authority has revealed that footage obtained by the cameras led to one person being convicted in court of two counts of illegal dumping in February.
