Sixmilebridge Priest To Address Council On Shannon Airport’s Fortunes

A Sixmilebridge priest has been invited to present to Clare County Council, on foot of his recent sermon in which he called for more supports for Shannon Airport.

Sociologist and rural campaigner Fr Harry Bohan raised the issue of the airport in his liturgy in recent weeks, saying more needed to be done to reverse falling passenger numbers at Shannon.

Since then, new routes to Paris and Shannon have been announced by Aer Lingus but overall, Shannon remains the only airport in the country this year to see passenger numbers decline.
