Newly Elected Clare Councillors To Take Up Seats From Today

Clare’s six new councillors will formally take up their seats today.

First-time Fianna Fáil candidates took four seats in last month’s elections, in the form of Mark Nestor, Shane Talty, Cillian Murphy and Joe Killeen.

The Green Party’s Roisin Garvey and Fine Gael’s Joe Garrihy were also elected in the Ennistymon Local Electoral Area.

They’ll take their positions at this afternoon’s Council AGM, which will also see Meelick Fianna Fáil Councillor Cathal Crowe elected as Mayor, replacing Councillor Michael Begley.
