Lahinch Business Owners “Frustrated” At Beach Closure

Business owners in Lahinch are said to be frustrated at the latest closure of their beach during the busy tourist season.

Clare County Council put restrictions in place on the advice of the HSE yesterday after elevated levels of bacteria were detected in routine water sampling.

It’s been blamed on recent heavy rainfall leading to runoff from the surrounding lands and comes less than a week after a bathing advisory notice there was lifted, following a similar issue.
