Concerns At EU Coronavirus Recovery Fund Plans For Clare

Concern has been expressed that Ireland’s share of the EU’s coronavirus recovery fund may not be enough to properly sustain a recovery of Clare’s economy.

It’s been proposed that Ireland would receive around three billion of the EU’s 750 billion euro fund, although outgoing Taoiseach Leo Varadkar had argued that Ireland merited a bigger allocation.

Last Friday, Clare County Council’s Economic Taskforce met for the first time, and the Council is targeting a series of short, medium and long-term projects for which it will seek funding, some of that via Europe.
