A motion to formally declare a climate emergency in Clare has been postponed.
Climate change discussions have dominated proceedings in the first full meeting of the new term of Clare County Council.
Four motions, put down by six councillors, tackled the issue, on the same day the government released its ambitious Climate Action Plan.
The motion to formally declare a climate emergency in this county will instead be heard in September, so that the new Climate Change Strategy for Clare can be completed in the meantime.
