Clare County Council To Crack Down On Dog Fouling With Random Spot Checks And Fines

Clare County Council is to crack down on the issue of dog fouling, with random spot checks to be carried out and fines issued to dog owners breaking the law.

The problem has been raised a number of times in council chambers in Clare, with places from Lahinch to Ennis namechecked as specific concerns.

The most recent issues have been reported in Sixmilebridge and around the Shannon Municipal District by Sixmilebridge Fine Gael Councillor John Crowe, who has called for a tougher stance to be taken.
