Over 100 Social Housing Units In Clare To Be Delayed As A Result Of COVID Restrictions

94 new housing units that were due to be built by Clare County Council this year have been delayed to 2022, as a result of the COVID-19 restrictions.

Projects at Ashline in Ennis, and in Miltown Malbay and Tulla, which were to be completed by December, have all been delayed while another project for 18 homes in Newmarket on Fergus has also been delayed until later this year.

While construction of social housing is allowed to continue under Level 5 restrictions, the schemes in question are impacted because they require site investigations that cannot be undertaken at this time.
