Clare County Council Moves To Allay Concerns Over Ennis Dog Shelter

Clare County Council has moved to allay concerns expressed about animal welfare at the Ennis Dog Shelter.

Following discussions on the shelter locally, and in particular on social media, Ennis Councillor Johnny Flynn sought an update from the local authority on services there.

It’s operated by Midland Animal Care Ltd on behalf of the Council and funding has been allocated for general maintenance, minor upgrade works and additional storage this year.

It’s also been assured that twice-weekly inspections are carried out and no animal welfare concerns have been identified – Fine Gael Councillor Flynn says a joined up approach is needed going forward.
