50 million euro is being made available for county councils to create more walking and cycling routes.
Applications will be made through local authorities including Clare County Council for repairs to bike tracks and paths – or to create new ones.
The scheme is being focused on rural towns and villages as opposed to urban areas, with allocations expected to take place in 2021.
