Clare Councillors have affirmed their support of the continued use of Shannon Airport by the US Military.
There have been regular protests at the Airport in recent years by those who oppose the practice that has been permitted by successive governments for over five decades.
The issue was also thrust into the spotlight in recent months when President Trump’s Travel Ban, which has been the subject of legal challenge in the US, was being enforced in the preclearance facility at Shannon.

However, Shannon-area Councillor Pat McMahon believes the US Military should be allowed to continue using the Airport.
