Clare Councillors state no justification for boundary extention

The committee considering local government changes in Limerick is being told there’s no justification for extending the city boundary of Limerick City into County Clare.

Clare County Council has agreed on its formal submission to the Limerick Local Government Committee which states its commitment to working in partnership with local authorities in Limerick, while retaining its own identity.

The main thrust of the detailed submission is that councillors still won’t give an inch of Clare to Limerick, though it focuses more on the future economic development of Clare as part of a stronger Mid-West Region.
