Clare Councillors Back Calls To Review Controversial Road Project

Councillors from throughout Clare have backed calls to review the controversial Limerick Northern Distributor Road project.

At last night’s Council meeting, two separate motions from Councillors Cathal Crowe and Michael Begley sought amendments to the Clare portion of the road, in light of an ongoing process to select a route in Limerick.

Here, a preferred route has already chosen but this is now to be looked at once more – Clare County Council says the project is vital for the region’s economy and had said there was no justification for another detailed review.

However, Councillor Crowe is now glad this will occur.
