Clare Councillor Urges Taoiseach To Reverse Decision To Impose Party Whip In Drink Driving Vote

A Clare Fine Gael Councillor has called on the Taoiseach to reverse the decision to impose the whip on party members in a vote on drink driving legislation.

The Minister for Transport is proposing to impose an automatic three-month driving ban on anyone found over the limit.

Fine Gael TDs and Senators have been told they must stay united and back the change, even though some have raised concerns about its implications, especially on rural areas.
