Clare Cleric: Forget Embarrassment Phone 999 when Needed

The Communications director of the diocese of Killaloe is urging anyone who believes they maybe experiencing a serious health issue to call the emergency services. 

Fr Brendan Quinlivan suffered two heart attacks in recent weeks and says he almost didn't ring 999 for fear of embarrasing himself.

If he hadn't called for an ambulance on time Fr Quinlivan says medics have told him he may have lost his life.

He's now embarking on a sabatical year from his parish duties to give him time to focus on his health.
