Clare Charity Sees Demand Triple During Pandemic

A Clare charity which provides a meals on wheels service has seen demand more than triple since the onset of the pandemic.

Obair was providing 60 meals or dinners to the elderly and lone parents in rural areas before Covid-19. This increased to over 300 at the height of the pandemic, while they’re now serving over 200 a day.

The organisation is a charity partner of Food Cloud, which is holding Ireland’s first ever national food appeal in over 400 supermarkets nationwide from Thursday to Sunday this week.
