Clare’s car dealers bucked the national trend last month by reporting an increase in car sales here.
420 new vehicles were registered here in February, a 6% year-on-year increase.
That’s despite the national figure showing that sales throughout Ireland were almost identical when compared with 2017.

Locally, and nationally, however, car sale levels are back on last year, although the drop in Clare is among the lowest in the country.
Industry figures have blamed the fall-off on Brexit, and on used car imports.
