Clare Cancer Nurse Urges Women to Keep Faith in Smear Testing

A Clare-based oncology nurse and ovarian cancer survivor is urging young women to make smear tests a regular part of their health checks, despite recent concerns.

It comes as a UK based medical expert and a gynaecologist have been tasked with carrying out an investigation into CervicalCheck – which is due to be finished by June.

The Cabinet is due to approve the terms of reference of a scoping inquiry into the cervical smear controversy following a meeting this morning.
