Clare Business Owners Want Clear Examples On How To Prepare For Brexit

Clare business owners are calling on the government to provide clear examples of how they can prepare for Brexit.

It follows the release of the government’s ‘Building Stronger Business’ report, which warns that businesses are unprepared for the challenges posed by Britain’s impending exit from the EU.

Brexit negotiations are progressing, with the Taoiseach, Leo Varadkar saying he expects a breakthrough in the coming weeks, which will alow EU leaders to give the go-ahead for talks on future trading to begin after Christmas.

But today, the Government’s has published a report; “Building Stronger Business”, which warns that many businesses have failed to take measures to prepare for changes in the market and trading conditions.

In it, help for businesses comes under three headings: helping firms compete, helping firms innovate and supporting firms to trade.

And President of Ennis Chamber William Cahir is urging local business owners to avail of any support that’s given

The report, which sets out the Government’s stance on Brexit has been given a broad welcome but businesses owners in Clare, but, they claim it’s impossible to prepare for the unknown.

They’re calling on the government to provide solid examples of what they can do to brace themselves for what’s to come.
