Clare-Based President Of IRHA Warns Brexit Could Result In Goods Shortages

The Clare-based President of the Irish Road Haulage Association is warning that a shortage of goods is a real possibility in this country if a Brexit deal isn’t secured.

It’s after the UK government warned there could be queues of up to 7,000 trucks at Dover after Brexit, resulting in long delays.

Up to 200,000 trucks from Ireland use the UK as a land bridge to access continental Europe every year, and the IRHA has warned any hiccups could result in widespread disruption to supply chains, a scarcity of products and significant cost increases.
