In all of 2016, 18 companies were sponsored by the IDA to pay a site visit to locations in Clare.

This was the highest number recorded in recent years, but the latest figures show the rate of these visits is increasing yet further.

From January through to March, 10 companies visited Clare.

This is less than Dublin and Galway, and the same number as in Limerick, but is higher than all other counties.

These site visits are a key step in encouraging foreign companies to set-up bases in Ireland, though it remains to be seen how many new employers will now establish a presence in Clare.
