Claims New Link Road Could Put An End To Ennis Traffic Congestion

Proposals for a new road linking the Friary Car Park in Ennis with the Templegate and Dunnes Car Parks are to be explored by the local authority.

It follows a request from Independent Councillor James Breen, who believes the route would have a huge impact on alleviating traffic congestion in the town.

Clare County Council has said that any proposal would have to take the Mobility Management Plan for the town into consideration, once it’s completed.

Councillor Breen is calling on the local authority to carry out a survey of traffic volumes in Ennis town centre, saying the current plan is damaging the town.
