Clare’s new Chief Superintendent is being asked to consider stationing a Garda at Blake’s Corner in Ennistymon to alleviate traffic issues at peak times.
The request was made of Michael Gubbins at this week’s Joint Policing Committee by Lahinch Councillor Bill Slattery, who previously made a similar request to former Chief Superintendent John Kerin.
At that time, there was disagreement as to whether GardaĆ or the Council would be responsible, and the request never came to fruition.
