Thousands of people throughout Ireland have supported the Pieta House charity on what should have been the day of their biggest annual fundraiser.
Today’s Darkness Into Light was postponed due to COVID-19, and instead this morning’s Sunrise Appeal encouraged people to get up at 5.30am, watch the sunrise from home and donate to help the charity continue its work.
The Chairperson for the Shannon Darkness into Light committee says that it’s about letting people feel that they’re still involved and to feel solidarity with people who have lost loved ones.
