Hundreds Set For Uganda Fundraising Run and Walk

Hundreds of people are set to take part in a fundraising run and walk in Barefield tomorrow, as part of efforts to support children in the African country of Uganda.

The event, which begins at 12 noon, will support some of the 18 Clare volunteers who are due to travel to Uganda this summer, to work on two projects there – Hospice Jinja, which was founded by Spancillhill-based Doctors Frank and Patricia Hassett, and also the purchase of a site and construction of a new pre school for 90 orphan children.

The group will be led by John Conroy, who has been volunteering in Uganda for the past decade.
