‘Cautious Welcome’ To Flood Relocation Proposals

Residents in South East Clare have given a cautious welcome to proposals to relocate residents affected by flooding.

The Cabinet is to receive a memo this morning that would initially see up to 200,000 euro offered to families whose homes have been left uninhabitable and uninsurable due to ongoing issues.

The Government has already committed €2 million to the programme and it’s hoped that the scheme would be extended to include those homes that were left inaccessible due to flooding.
