Campaigners in Doonbeg Urge For The Start Of Coastal Protection Works

Campaigners in Doonbeg are urging the local authority to give the green light to coastal protection works there in order to ensure the future viabilty of the local economy.

The Trump Hotel and Golf Resort in Doonbeg has responded to a Clare County Council request for further information on its planned coastal protection works and a decision is due to be made in the second week of December.

The 256 metre long development, which has received a broad welcome from the local community, has faced significant opposition from environmental groups.
