Calls For Wider Availability Of Baby Brain Damage Treatment

A Sixmilebridge mother is calling for life-saving treatment for newborn babies to be made available at the region’s maternity hospital.

The ‘Baby Cooling’ treatment is used in some instances when a child is born and is at risk of developing brain damage.

To be effective, the treatment needs to begin within six hours of birth but currently, it’s only available in four hospitals – three in Dublin, and one in Cork.
