Calls For Text Alerts To Fight Hospital Waiting Times

New figures show that almost 30,000 patients did not attend their scheduled appointments in the UL Hospitals Group last year.

The figures show 6,000 patients did not attend new appointments, and over 21,000 did not attend review appointments.

Both figures equate to around one in six of all appointments in the group, and Co. Limerick Fine Gael TD Tom Neville believes it’s contributing to the waiting times of people who otherwise would be seen more quickly.
