Calls For More Supports For ‘Wet Pubs’

A Clare publican says more supports are needed for both publicans and their employees as we head into Christmas.

Yesterday Taoiseach Micheál Martin announced the government’s plan for exiting level 5 COVID-19 restrictions next week.

The country will revert to level three restrictions with some modifications from Tuesday 1st December and on Friday, pubs that serve food will be allowed to reopen to the public.

However, pubs that do not serve food will not be permitted to open and those within the industry are faced with the prospect of keeping their doors shut until well into 2021.
