Calls For Stricter Regulations Of Drones Near Shannon

An Ireland South MEP is calling for stricter regulations on the operation of drones near airports.

It comes amid fears of disruption for operations at Shannon Airport, after a drone found flying near Cork Airport caused delays to inbound and outbound flights for a time yesterday morning.

It is illegal to operate a drone within 4.5km of an airfield under new rules introduced by the Irish Aviation Authority.
